God is helping us as we start the process of calling churches to ask for deputation services. We so want to share the burden God has laid upon our hearts for Peru! There are so many avenues for ministry in Lima and the southern portion of Peru. When we think of the orphanages, the prison opportunities (where mothers give birth and then raise their babies in prison), the homeless street children, and the overall massive amount of souls without the knowledge of the Good News it can be overwhelming! However, we KNOW that God has a plan and knows the exact place of ministry that He wants for us.
When Bryon was visiting Lima, Peru, last October, God gave direct help and leadership. Two men were converted, a taxi driver and shoe shiner. The old shoe shiner wept as he told Bryon and Philip about his experience as a child in a holiness church up north. He said he still remembered things he had been taught. God reclaimed him that day on the dirty streets of Lima, and then the question was asked, "Where do I go from here?" Bryon could only point him to reading God's Word and finding a Bible believing church. How wonderful it will be when we can begin to instruct these precious ones on a daily basis. The newly saved men gave Bryon their contact numbers and want him to get in touch when we arrive. It is staggering to think that 1/4 of all Peru lives in one city----LIMA! OH, how they need to hear! Pray for us as we begin traveling to tell YOU about this great need.
